Effects of Screen Time

Screen time can affect children developmentally in many different ways, impacting socio-emotional function, executive function, cognition, language and motor skills. Studies have shown that the best way for babies to learn is through human interaction. Experts recommend that babies under two years of age should have zero screen time, while children two to four years of age should not have any more than one hour of screen time a day. For the brain to develop and grow, it needs stimuli from the outside world and time to process, through activities such as reading storybooks out loud.
